This carafe would make a stunning addition to mid-century modern (MCM) decor! It looks very much like similar pieces made by Taylor, Smith, and Taylor, but I'm not confident enough to put a maker to it.
The neck is narrow at 2 1/4", gets a bit narrower and then flares out to 7 1/2" wide at the base. It stands 8" high. The carafe is banded at the neck with a wide brass-look metal band, which in turn has a metal handle screwed to it. A straight, dark wood handle covers the metal so it's easy to handle. It appears to be made of porcelain, and has a spray of hand-painted blue-green leaves with pink flowers painted on the front. It is heavy and substantial.
Condition: Although it is in good vintage condition, there is a little bit of rust around the top and bottom of the metal band. There are small production marks on the bottom of the piece from where it sat after being made. Other than what I just listed, it has no chips, cracks, dings, or other blemishes.
